    The study “The emerging city”, a challenge launched by the Escuela de Arquitectura Cesuga, in A Coruña, Spain, and which in Portugal was accompanied by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), showed that 90 per cent of respondents would like the city to be greener, and that their dwellings should respect “solar orientation, thermal and acoustic insulation, interior organisation, large openings in relation to private exterior spaces (balconies, terraces, patios, gardens). One can also read that the existence of these criteria is “strongly desired”.

    For Paulo Martins, CEO of Ponto Urbano, “the situation of social confinement experienced by the Portuguese in recent months has made the consumer seek more quality, namely, good acoustic insulation”. “After a period in which we suspended commercial activity with visits to properties, for precautionary reasons both for the health of our team and that of potential customers, currently buying a home and improving the quality of daily life is one of the main objectives for many Portuguese families,” he argues. “With the time that people have been forced to spend at home we have noticed that clients have realised the great importance that the space where they live assumes in daily life and, therefore, they now decide to invest in a home and increase, in the long term, their assets”, adds the responsible person. “Currently, what consumers value most are efficient acoustic insulation, generous interior and exterior areas and good sun exposure. All for a better quality of life”, concludes Paulo Martins.

    A nova realidade pós-confinamento assenta, forçosamente, em habitações mais arejadas e com espaços exteriores.

    O estudo “A cidade emergente”, um desafio lançado pela Escuela de Arquitectura Cesuga, da Corunha, em Espanha e que em Portugal foi acompanhado pela Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Porto (FAUP), demonstrou que 90 por cento dos inquiridos gostaria que a cidade fosse mais verde, e que as suas habitações respeitassem “a orientação solar, o isolamento térmico e acústico, a organização interior, grandes aberturas de relação com espaços exteriores privados (varandas, terraços, pátios, jardins). Pode ler-se ainda que a existência destes critérios é “vincadamente desejada”.

Tudo para uma melhor qualidade de vida”, conclui Paulo Martins.
